If you are tall and need a tent for the trail, you will want to check this list of very long best backpacking tents for tall people from the best-known brands in this industry.
Backpacking tents are ultralight because it’s gear that you are supposed to carry on your back. Most of them are pretty long and suitable for the majority of users. But as you know, a sleeping bag takes up space, and it is not great if it touches the tent’s walls. It can become wet and heavy and lose its insulation capacity.
This can be an issue even if you are a shorter person. So imagine how this is for very tall people that can’t help but touch the side of the tent.
It is essential to keep your sleeping bag dry. This holds in particular for down-fill sleeping bags, which are usually used on the trail because of their excellent weight.
The lowest length limit for all tents is 90 inches 229 cm. You won’t find anything shorter than that, and the longest tent on our list measures 96 inches (244 cm). This is a very exclusive list, and there are not so many tents on the market with such a length.
Regarding the official capacity, you have them in the 1 – 4 person range. So this should be enough for most potential users and backpacking groups.

Final Thoughts
So this was our list of very long backpacking tents for tall people; we do not think you will find many alternatives on the market. Most of these tents are for solo use, but as mentioned above, some are part of a series, so follow the links and see more if you need a tent for more people.
Only a couple of the tents here can be described as ultralight, which are tents for multiple people. The solo tents from the same series are normally shorter, so we didn’t add them.
But if you are in a group of a few friends or with your partner, go for a 3-person or 2-person tent and share the weight. Some of them can be as light as one long solo tent.
